[OCALA, FLORIDA, December 28, 2024] – The inaugural 5K for Good and fourth annual Concert for Good, both presented by Citizens First Bank, have already raised over $40,000 for Brother’s Keeper and Marion County Children’s Alliance.
The morning’s 5K at Baseline Trailhead saw Eduardo Diaz win the overall title in 15:38. His sister Ximena Diaz claimed the women’s overall victory in 20:34. Event co-founder Luke Lombardo, a West Port High School junior, placed second overall with a personal best of 16:19. The 5K marks an expansion of the brothers’ annual tradition of giving back during the holiday season. What began as a family tradition before their teens has grown into a community-wide initiative that has raised $56,000 for local charities since 2021.
The Concert for Good continues tonight at 7:30 PM at the Ocala Civic Theatre. Limited tickets remain available at www.concertforgood.com for $15. The evening concert will mark co-founder Caleb Lombardo’s first trip home since beginning at the United States Air Force Academy in June.
Brother’s Keeper is a social services ministry of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, while the Marion County Children’s Alliance works to improve the lives of children in Marion County through community collaboration and advocacy.
