About This Event

Ocala's premier Independence Day running tradition returns for 2026 at Marion County Veterans Memorial Park. Two race options: the signature 4-mile run through quiet, tree-shaded neighborhoods of Southeast Ocala and a 1-mile run/walk. Both honor the memory of Greg "Iggy" Miller, a cornerstone of the local running community who passed away in 2013. Registration and packet pickup open at 6:30 AM; 4-mile race starts at 7:30 AM; 1-mile starts at 7:35 AM. Awards at 8:45 AM (3 places per 5-year age group). T-shirt included with registration before June 15. Includes patriotic finisher medal, chip timing, and post-race refreshments.
