About Ocala Speedway
Ocala Speedway began operations in 1952. The track describes itself as the oldest continuously operating race track in Florida, and over the years it has also been called Bubba Raceway Park, Zuber Speedway, Marion Speedway, and Lightning Speedway. It ran on clay for 45 years and on asphalt for 10, then went back to clay in 2008.
The track is a 3/8-mile, D-shaped oval with semi-banked turns at 9050 NW Gainesville Road on the north side of Ocala. Its racing classes include BRP Late Models, Florida Late Models, 360 winged sprint cars, and open-wheel modifieds, and its schedules also feature street stocks, Legends, and other divisions.
Winter brings national touring series to Ocala. In 2026 the track hosted a USAC sprint car national championship week in February and five nights of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series from February 23 to 28, and the Lucas Oil series has announced a return for March 1–6, 2027.
Its Night of Demolition events include demolition derbies, run-what-ya-brung enduro races, figure-8 races (including school buses and 4-cylinder cars), and trailer, chain, and flagpole races. The fall 2026 schedule lists 2X Monster Trucks Live on October 24, the Fall Classic on November 7, and Tour of Destruction on November 14.
Race times change through the year, so the track posts details for each event on its website and Facebook page. Tickets are sold at the track on event day, all seating is general admission, and coolers and outside food and drinks are not allowed. The concession stand sells burgers, hot dogs, BBQ pork, pork tenderloins, chicken fingers, and fries, and there is designated handicap parking and seating.
