Ocala Gran Prix (Closed)
The outdoor kart racing track on NW 44th Avenue closed indefinitely in April 2021.
Is Ocala Gran Prix Still Open?
No. In early April 2021, Ocala Gran Prix (often called OGP, and sometimes spelled "Ocala Grand Prix") announced that it was ceasing operations indefinitely. eKartingNews and Canadian Karting News (April 5, 2021) reported the closure. Its last national events were a United States Pro Kart Series round and ROK Cup Florida Winter Tour races earlier that year.
Reports at the time said the land would become RV and vehicle storage. We have not confirmed how the property is used now.
What Ocala Gran Prix Was
Ocala Gran Prix was an outdoor kart racing facility at 4121 NW 44th Avenue, northwest of downtown Ocala near I-75. According to its own website, it opened in 1999. It hosted the Florida Winter Tour, ROK Cup and Florida Karting Championship Series races, ran its own race team, kart shop and driving school, and rented club karts to the public Wednesday through Sunday.
An earlier version of this page described indoor electric go-karts, an arcade and party packages. That was not Ocala Gran Prix, and we have corrected it.
