Marion County and the City of Ocala have nearly 20 public meetings and hearings on the calendar in November 2026. What Is New This Month

• Land Development Regulation Committee, Nov. 18: the 5:30 p.m. public hearing is now in person at the McPherson Governmental Campus Auditorium, 601 SE 25th Ave., according to the county's Oct. 28 Sunshine Notice. • Road-closure hearings, Nov. 17: county commissioners hear two road-closure petitions at 10 a.m. The county's Oct. 23 notice says to send evidence or comments to Dasha.Milosevic@marionfl.org or the Office of the County Engineer, 412 SE 25th Ave., Ocala 34471 (352-671-8686). • Affordable housing incentives, Dec. 1: the 2 p.m. workshop is in person at the same auditorium. Comments go to CommunityServices@marionfl.org or Community Services, 2710 E. Silver Springs Blvd. (352-671-8770).


• Fire Rescue and EMS Advisory Board, Nov. 18: meets in person at 4 p.m. at Fire Rescue headquarters, 2631 SE 3rd St. Comments go to Pam.Doherty@marionfl.org or the same address (352-291-8000).

How to Comment

• County commission, 9 a.m. meetings: the county's request-to-speak page says requests must reach county administration by 5 p.m. on the Friday before the meeting, by form, email to BCCAgenda@marionfl.org or mail to 601 SE 25th Ave., Ocala 34471 (352-438-2300). People who do not file ahead can sign up on the day and get two minutes. That form does not apply to the Planning and Zoning meetings.


• Hearings listed in Sunshine Notices: send evidence or comments to the contact named in the notice, as listed above. State law, as quoted in each notice, says anyone who appeals a decision may need a verbatim record of the proceedings.


• Ocala City Council: complete a written public comment form and give it to the City Clerk before the meeting is called to order; speakers get three minutes. Written comments to the City Clerk before the meeting are also accepted. Call the City Manager's Office at 352-629-8401 at least 48 hours ahead for accommodations. Not Included

School board meetings are not listed here because the district's website could not be read when this page was prepared. Check the district's calendar for dates. City offices are closed Nov. 11 for Veterans Day and Nov. 26 and 27 for Thanksgiving, according to the city's agenda calendar.
