One of Ocala's October haunts is dark this year. Wayne's World of Paintball has canceled A Nightmare on Pine Street, the haunted trail it hosts at its park at 4841 S. Pine Ave., for 2026. In a post on its official Facebook page on Sept. 23, the business said that "due to complications with our request to the city for this event, we must cancel the Haunted Trail this year."
The event poster shared with the announcement listed the 2026 trail for Oct. 9-10, 16-17 and 23-24, from 8 to 11 p.m., with a hurricane date of Friday, Oct. 30, and noted that it was not a paintball event. The trail's own Facebook page describes it as an annual haunted trail to benefit Toys for Tots, hosted by Wayne's World of Paintball.
Wayne's World said the decision "did not come lightly," thanked its volunteers, and said it would still hold its volunteer meeting on Saturday, Sept. 26, to go over details and next steps. The post closed with "We hope to see you next year!" Paintball play at the park is not affected; see our Wayne's World of Paintball guide for hours and contact details.
