Awards and Divisions

Awards are presented across multiple categories. Adult age group awards go three deep for both men and women, spanning divisions from 20–24 through 65 and older. Youth divisions go five deep, covering ages 0–6 through 17–19.

A Sweetheart Division offers a team category for pairs consisting of one male and one female runner. Combined finishing times determine the winners in this category. Runners competing in the Sweetheart Division are not eligible for individual age group awards.

Supporting Vanguard Cross Country

All proceeds from the Valentine's Day 5K go directly to the Vanguard High School Cross Country Team. The funds help cover the costs of training camps, meet entry fees, travel expenses, and team uniforms. The Vanguard Knights compete in the Marion County Athletic Conference and have a tradition of strong performances at the district and regional levels.
