The SW 66th Street bridge over Interstate 75 in southwest Ocala is closed while the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) rebuilds it. FDOT's Marion County lane closure list shows the bridge closed for reconstruction starting Monday, June 15, 2026, and says it will stay closed until mid-June 2027.
FDOT directs drivers who normally cross I-75 on SW 66th Street to the SW 43rd Street Road bridge instead:

The bridge work is part of FDOT's I-75 Improvements from south of SR 44 to SR 200 project (FPID 452074-2). FDOT's project page describes it as a 23-mile, $257 million project in Marion and Sumter counties that adds auxiliary lanes to I-75, with Anderson Columbia Co. as contractor and completion estimated for early 2029. The project's Moving I-75 Forward page says the overpass bridges at CR 462, CR 475 and SW 66th Street will be replaced as part of the work.
The project also brings overnight lane closures on the interstate. For the week of Oct. 11-15, 2026, FDOT lists lane closures on southbound I-75 from Sunday, Oct. 11, through Thursday, Oct. 15, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly, for auxiliary lane and shoulder construction. Detour: Use the SW 43rd Street Road Bridge
FDOT directs drivers who normally cross I-75 on SW 66th Street to the SW 43rd Street Road bridge instead:
- Heading east: continue east on SR 200, turn right on SW 43rd Street Road, and cross I-75 on the SW 43rd Street Road bridge.
- Heading west: take SW 27th Avenue north to SW 42nd Street and turn left, then cross I-75 on the SW 43rd Street Road bridge and continue to SR 200.
