Southbound I-75, south of SR 44 to SR 200 (Project 452074-2)

A separate project is building a new I-75 interchange at NW 49th Street north of Ocala. See our NW 49th Street interchange update.
SW 66th Street Bridge Over I-75: Still Closed
The SW 66th Street bridge over I-75 is closed for reconstruction under the southbound I-75 project (452074-2). FDOT's list shows the closure starting Monday, June 15, 2026, and says the bridge is closed until mid-June 2027. Drivers who need to cross I-75 are sent to the SW 43rd Street Road bridge.
- Heading east: take SR 200 east to SW 43rd Street Road, turn right, and cross I-75 on the SW 43rd Street Road bridge.
- Heading west: take SW 27th Avenue north to SW 42nd Street and turn left. Cross I-75 on the SW 43rd Street Road bridge and continue to SR 200.
Background on the bridge replacement is in our earlier report, SW 66th Street bridge over I-75 being replaced.
SR 200 (SW College Road) at SW 60th Avenue (Project 451253-1)
- Right-turn lane closed: the right-turn lane from eastbound SR 200 onto southbound SW 60th Avenue is closed continuously from Tuesday, Oct. 13, through Friday, Oct. 16, for sidewalk and crosswalk reconstruction.
- Detour: drivers heading east on SR 200 who want southbound SW 60th Avenue should turn right on SW 73rd Street Road and follow it to SW 60th Avenue.
- Night work: single-lane closures on SR 200 and on SW 60th Avenue from Sunday, Oct. 11, through Friday, Oct. 16, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The project page describes a $1 million safety upgrade at the intersection, in unincorporated Marion County just southwest of the city. The project concept adds a second span wire so each SR 200 travel lane gets its own signal, and adds reflective backplates that make the signals easier to see. It also includes better lighting and new signs and pavement markings. Completion is estimated for late 2026. More on the corridor is in our Highway 200 guide.
