Ocala Road Work This Week: I-75, US 441 and SR 200 Overnight Lane Closures, Nov. 1-7, 2026

Interstate 75

FDOT is adding auxiliary lanes between interchanges on I-75 through Marion County under two projects, known together as Moving I-75 Forward. Both are listed with an estimated completion of early 2029. Last week's schedule is in Ocala road work for Oct. 25-31.

Northbound I-75, SR 200 to SR 326 (Project 452074-1)

• When: Sunday night, Nov. 1, through Thursday morning, Nov. 5, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.


• What: single and double-lane closures on northbound I-75 between SR 200 and SR 326


• Why: excavation and embankment work, plus milling and resurfacing

According to the project page, this 8-mile, $242 million project adds auxiliary lanes between interchanges and makes operational improvements at several interchanges. Construction on the north project began Nov. 3, 2025. The contractor is Lane Construction Corp.

I-75, south of SR 44 to SR 200 (Project 452074-2)

• When: Sunday, Nov. 1, to Thursday, Nov. 5, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly


• What: lane closures on northbound and southbound I-75, Sunday night through Thursday


• Why: construction of auxiliary lanes

The project page lists this as a 23-mile, $257 million project in Marion and Sumter counties. The contractor is Anderson Columbia Co. Drivers using the interstate overnight to reach hotels near I-75 should allow extra time.

SW 66th Street Bridge Over I-75: Still Closed

FDOT's lane closure report lists the SW 66th Street bridge over I-75 as closed from Monday, June 15, 2026, through June 2027, and says it is closed until mid-June 2027 for reconstruction. Drivers who need to cross I-75 are directed to the SW 43rd Street Road bridge.

• Heading east: take SR 200 east to SW 43rd Street Road, turn right, and cross I-75 on the SW 43rd Street Road bridge.


• Heading west: take SW 27th Avenue north to SW 42nd Street and turn left, cross I-75 on the SW 43rd Street Road bridge, then turn left on NW 40th Avenue or continue to SR 200.

SR 200 (SW College Road) at SW 60th Avenue (Project 451253-1)

• When: Sunday, Nov. 1, through Thursday, Nov. 5, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.


• What: nighttime single-lane closures on SR 200 and on SW 60th Avenue


• Why: construction work at the intersection

The project page describes a $1 million safety upgrade at the intersection in unincorporated Marion County, just southwest of the city. The concept adds a second span wire so each SR 200 travel lane gets its own signal and upgrades the signals with reflective backplates. It also includes enhanced lighting and refreshed signs and pavement markings. The contractor is Chinchor Electric, Inc., and completion is estimated for late 2026. Unlike the Oct. 12-16 week, FDOT's list for Nov. 1-5 does not include a closed right-turn lane at the intersection. More on the corridor is in our Highway 200 guide.

U.S. 27/441, Summerfield to Belleview (Project 450637-1)

• When: Sunday, Nov. 1, through Thursday, Nov. 5, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.


• Where: northbound and southbound U.S. 441, from north of SE 178th Place in Summerfield to south of SE 62nd Avenue in Belleview


• What: single-lane closures for roadway milling and resurfacing

FDOT's list shows this work overnight, as in the Oct. 18-23 week, after the daytime single-lane closures it posted for Oct. 12-16. According to the project page, the $8.9 million project will mill and resurface about 8.2 miles of U.S. 27/441 from the Sumter County line to south of SE 62nd Avenue. The contractor is CWR Contracting, Inc., and completion is estimated for spring 2027.

City of Ocala: SE 11th Avenue Closures End Monday

The City of Ocala's closures page lists travel lane and sidewalk closures on SE 11th Avenue from State Road 40 to SE Lake Weir Avenue for a road resurfacing project that began Aug. 31 and is scheduled through Monday, Nov. 2. Work runs Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., so Monday is the only workday of the project that falls within Nov. 1-7. The city warns of delays, noise, dust and heavy equipment during work hours. Questions go to the City Engineer's Office, Capital Projects Division, at 352-629-8419.

The page's NE 2nd Street water service closures, which the city scheduled for Oct. 19-21, Oct. 26 and Oct. 28, were the last entries listed there for that street. The page lists no new city closure for Nov. 3-7.

County Roads

As of Oct. 31, Marion County's news list had no road or lane closures posted for the week; its most recent notices, through Oct. 28, concern boil water notices. The Office of the County Engineer page lists none either. Its calendar does list two public hearings on Nov. 17 to consider road closure petitions, one associated with Silver City and one with an unrecorded subdivision plat; both fall after this week.
