Where is the Ocala Regional Sportsplex?
The Sportsplex is on the west side of Ocala, on SW 67th Avenue. Google Maps measures the drive from the downtown Ocala square at 8.0 miles, about 20 minutes, by way of SW 20th Street.
The address appears in three forms. The city's facility directory uses 3500 SW 67 Ave. with ZIP 34470, the city's league schedule uses 3500 SW 67th Ave. Rd., and Google Maps and the Visit Ocala directory use 3500 SW 67th Ave, Ocala, FL 34474. Searching the park's name in a map app is the most reliable way to navigate there; Google's pin sits at 29.1542, -82.2330.
It is not the Rotary Sportsplex of Marion County, a separate county park at 5220 SE Maricamp Rd on the other side of town. The two names are easy to mix up, so check which park a game is at before driving.
Fields and amenities
The City of Ocala's facility directory lists the park at 80.51 acres with these amenities: softball fields, soccer fields, a football field, a volleyball court, a basketball court, exercise equipment, a playground, a pavilion and picnic shelter, picnic tables, benches, grills, restrooms and water fountains.
Rentable fields (City of Ocala)
- Football fields (games and tournaments only)
- Soccer fields
- Softball fields
- Volleyball courts
- Multi-use and practice fields
Field counts (Visit Ocala directory)
- Five 300-foot softball fields, all lighted
- Portable fencing to convert the fields to 200-foot fences
- Two lighted basketball courts
- Four lighted sand volleyball pits
- Paved, lighted sidewalks and trails
The city's own pages list the types of fields but not how many of each; the counts in the second box come from the county visitors bureau's directory listing. The Sportsplex is not on the city's list of pavilions that can be reserved, so its picnic shelters are not bookable through the city's pavilion system.
