The park sits on the Maricamp Road corridor in southeast Ocala. Earlier versions of this page listed an address on SW 67th Avenue and called the park the "Regional Athletic Complex"; both were wrong and have been removed. If GPS offers a southwest Ocala location, it is not this park.

Rotary youth baseball (Marion County Babe Ruth League)
The Ocala Rotary Sportsplex / Marion County Babe Ruth League is the park's main tenant. The league describes itself as a local park run by Marion County Parks and Recreation where kids 4 to 16 learn to play baseball, and it runs both recreational and select baseball. It runs two seasons a year: fall sign-ups open in July with play through November, and spring sign-ups open in January with play through May, followed by the summer all-star season. Volunteer coaches register separately, and fall 2026 coach registration was open when this page was checked.

Soccer: Big Sun Premier and the turf fields
Big Sun Youth Soccer League plays mostly at its own complex on SE 36th Avenue and lists Rotary Sportsplex as its secondary location for scheduled use; the county names Rotary as host of Big Sun's Premier (competitive) program. The county has converted two Rotary soccer fields from grass to synthetic turf, the first synthetic turf fields at a Marion County public park. The project also added a paved parking lot, a new pavilion, stadium bleachers with shade structures and LED field lighting, and was paid for by the county commission, the Tourism Development Council and a donation from AdventHealth Ocala. The fields opened with a ribbon cutting on April 1, 2026.
Tournaments
Outside league nights, the park hosts baseball, softball and soccer tournaments booked through Marion County Parks and Recreation, and the listing notes plug-and-play live-streaming infrastructure for events. Tournament schedules are posted by the organizing association, not the county, so check the tournament host's page for game times.
Why it is called the Rotary Sportsplex of Marion County
The park's full name is the Rotary Sportsplex of Marion County, and the name records how it was built. According to Visit Ocala's directory listing, the complex was established in 1997 after a group of residents drew up a plan, formed a community alliance and brought the idea of a sports complex to the City of Ocala and Marion County. The Silver Springs Rotary Club helped put the plans together with the state, and the listing calls the project Florida Governor Jeb Bush's second public/private partnership. The Ocala Gazette, in a 2021 feature on the park, put it this way: it was the first time the state, the county and private enterprise came together to build a park like the Sportsplex.
County Administrator Jim Lowry worked with Fred Ayer, director of the state Office of Greenways and Trails, to secure the land on Maricamp Road. Ground was broken in October 1997, and by September 1998 children were playing organized baseball and soccer on ten finished fields. The listing counts 16 fields today, built with more than $3 million in donated materials and services, and says the tournaments the park hosts bring hundreds of thousands of dollars of economic impact to Marion County each year.
The partnership is still how the park runs. Marion County Parks and Recreation maintains the complex, and the Gazette reports that the Rotary board compensates the county for maintenance costs. That is why the park goes by more than one name: the county's own listing shortens it to Rotary Sportsplex, the baseball league calls itself the Ocala Rotary Sportsplex league, and the Gazette uses the full Rotary Sportsplex of Marion County.

Tournament-day traffic
Maricamp Road is a busy commuter road. On tournament Saturdays, arrive early for warm-ups and expect the lots nearest the fields you need to fill first.
