When Does the Holiday Season Start in Ocala?
The official holiday season in Ocala typically begins in late November, often around Thanksgiving weekend. This is when downtown light displays are installed and activated, holiday markets open for the season, and promotional holiday events are announced. By early December, full holiday programming is in place, with events occurring most weekends and special dates throughout the month. The season builds momentum through December 25th, with some activities continuing into early January.

When Is the Ocala Christmas Tree Lighting in 2026?
The City of Ocala lights downtown at Light Up Ocala on Saturday, November 21, 2026. The free event runs from 3 to 8 p.m. around the downtown square, with more than 100 vendors, live holiday entertainment and a kids' zone. School bands, dance studios and Scout troops march in the Junior Sunshine Parade, which brings Santa downtown ahead of the lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. 2026 is the event's 42nd year.
